Anybody out there try to fit 16 X 7.5" wheels on a 1989 - 1991 SHO? (Stock
width is 6"winking smiley I couldn't get performance tires in 215/60-16 so I ordered
225/50-16 instead. The wheels are Antera 109 (also known as Opus Ones). The
offset is 6mm different than stock. (Wheels 6mm further away from car)
I've been told that I may need to use a baseball bat to roll the rear fender
lip. They say to stick the bat on top of the tire and SLOWLY roll the car
forward. I don't know about that. It seems like I might bend the entire
fender out since the lip seems pretty substantial. Any advice on this?
Should I cut the lip instead? Is the combination of increased section width,
rim width, and offset going to make this an impossible fit?

I got TSW Stealths in 16x7.5 for our '92 Taurus Wagon - these are reputed to
have a 40mm backspace. I fit 215/55-16 Dunlop SP-8000's with no clearance
problems.
