Well, opening day at the track was this past Saturday.
I guess the
most important thing that I have to say is.... Yiiiiiippppppeeeeeee!
Just to refresh your memory, this is what I have.....
Stock Shortblock
GT40 intake
Edlebrock heads exhaust mildly ported. C/R ~8.7:1
E303 cam 1.60(intake)/1.72(exhaust)
B-trim vortech w/2.65" pulley
Borla 2 1/2" exhaust (h-pipe)
Mac 1 5/8" unequal headers
Pro-M 77mm
BBK 70mm EGR and Throttlebody
30lb injectors
T-Rex + 190lph intank
3:55
Comp T/A ZRs
And, here are my times. (I took out two that look just like #4).
1 2 3 4 5
60' 2.305 2.128 2.136 2.114 2.156
330' 5.952 5.731 5.655 5.870 5.999
660' 8.686 8.442 8.323 8.639 8.749
MPH 90.54 90.75 93.14 89.03 91.53
1000' 10.982 10.729 10.549 10.950 11.010
1/4 12.883 12.620 12.382 12.835 12.867
MPH 118.81 119.44 123.25 120.61 121.96
Run #1 was just a shakedown run. I was in no way expecting to go
118.81 mph especially considering that this was on Mobil 93 pump
fuel with NO octane boost. I actually got on it the second run and
smashed the 6000rpm rev limiter in 4th gear about 100 - 150 feet
from the traps. I would have expected to go over 121 with street gas
but at the same time that I put the 6200rpm chip in the rev limiter,
I switched to race gas. Again without pushing it too hard, I went
12.38@123.25. And Guess what, I hit the rev limiter before I hit
the traps (grrrrr). This was also with only a little under a degree of
boost retard. I had a lot left to go. After that run I switched my
front tires with my back thinking that they were a little taller. I
guess I was wrong because after the first run where I was more
or less sliding down the track (brand new tires) I ran consistant
121.x for three runs in a row hitting the rev limiter each time. I
will be going up there this week with my 26x8 cheaters and
hopefully I will be seing 127mph. Considering I was looking for
a low 11 second car, I am extremely happy. As it sits now, with
my car weighing about 3450lbs, I am making 493hp (formula?).
If I can get a couple of more mph out of the thing, I am looking at
10.6s - 10.8s. Needless to say, Yiiiiiipppppeeeeeee!
Hope everyone had as good a weekend as I did....
Mike.
