Hi all,

Some idiot smashed my rear right window (he must have been under the
influence because he missed the first time so he damaged the body as
well)...

Anyway, I ordered a new one, but it turned out that the guy in the shop
ordered a square window which of course is totally @#%! wrong for a Mach
1.
They will order the correct window now, but the guy in the shop says it
should be a green window.
Is this right?
How do I know if my glass is green or white? Tried to put a piece of
paper behind a window, but I couldn't see whether it is green or white.
It should be hardened in any case.

I'd appreciate any input and an explanation on how that guy got a job in
a car glass shop.

/Olof

Hmmm... my windows are all clear.

I have no idea what the guy is talking about.

On my 71 the original was clear but the available replacement was tinted.

They guy is talking about green SUN-X glass used in A/C equipped
cars. Once upon a time I used to run a body shop and I had a
car that needed a window, it was a Datsun, and I found out that
Datsun offered an optional 'Bronze' tinted glass that looked
really good on brown or gold cars.

So, if you don't have A/C then your glass should be clear.

You can often see the color better by wetting the edge of the glass and looking at the edge or a slightly oblique angle to it. Sometimes a flashlight helps. FWIW :-)
