I plan on purchasing one of those in-dash replacement radios for my 65. =
The old AM radio has to go. If you have an in-dash unit, would you tell =
me the kind you have and your experiences with it? If you were going to =
buy that same radio again, would you? Thanks!

I kept the am in the dash and had a high end stereo place put one in my
glove box. I use a remote and no one knows it is there.

If you are not going to be showing in the concours class of MCA shows (where the glove box or trunk will have to be open for view), I would go the hidden modern radio method.
I have two cars with the In-dash replacement radios and they are barely adequate. The fit is good and you get FM and cassette, but the low power output and so-so fidelity severely limit listening enjoyment, IMHO. Your YMMV.
Hope this helps,
