Mail From: constantine (constantine
Car: 69 Mach1 S code
Went to flick on my turn signals and got nothing. Signal indicators in the dash don't light up either. Checked the flasher unit and it has power. Pulled the steering wheel and there isn't any power at the points on the left where the wires feed into the switch. When I restored this car 20 years ago, the switch in the column was bad, but I think I remember power coming into the switch.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
mike

You might want to trace the power back further. It could be a key switch issue.

Assuming you have power on BOTH sides of the flasher, it sounds like it may
be as simple as checking the plug where the turn signal switch plugs you're
your harness. It may have worked loose. Otherwise, I'd suspect a possible
broken wire.
Lance.

Interesting...I don't have power on both sides.

If you don't have power on both sides, get a new flasher at the local auto parts
store.
Typically, power goes through the flasher first, then on to the turn signal
switch and finally out to the lights. The reason it goes through the flasher
before the switch is so the lights "blink" no matter where the switch is set.
Otherwise, you'd need separate left & right flashers.
