Is there a replacement for the turn signal canceller on a 64 1/2 short of
replacing the entire turn signal harness?

I haven't tried, or even looked yet, but what is the process for removing
the horn ring?

Right now, it's just kind of anoying, and I'm not sure that I want the
hassle, but I thought that I'd ask around.

I have never found one. But I was "lucky" enough to find the signal cancellor arm broken
off and still hiding inside the stearing wheel. So I super glued it back on and it
worked! For about 3 months, then it snapped off again. Luckily (?) at the same place.

I have now superglued it 4 times or so, it always makes me happy to have a cancelling
right turn signal again, until ...SNAP...

The decorative cover comes off by pushing down (like blowing the horn) and turning
counter clockwise.

Then you have to get to the steering wheel off, take off the nut, then hope you have
a steering wheel puller.

The turn signal mechanism seems to be rivited in there, I guess you'd have to drill out
the rivets to get the old one off, and somehow attach the whole new assembly.
I'm not sure how to do this, which is one reason (along with the replacement part cost)
that I keep using my superglue 3 month fix.

I've purchased a new plastic turn signal mechanism and soldered the
existing wires back on. This was the mid 70s so it is a bit fuzzy.
At that time, I didn't even think of replacing the turn signal
harness.

Greetings, C.J.'s Pony Parts has both the switch attached
to a long harness and just the white plastic switch.
I think their phone number is 1-800-888-6473
I got just the switch from them at the last Columbus
swap meet. This was for a '70.

Good Luck.

P.S. If you order, get one of their shirts, they're very cool!
