I have a '64 3/4... (Halloween, San Jose car...)...

When I took my "chrome quarter trim" off the sides of the car, I noticed
a couple of things... One, the "grooves" in the chrome piece had been
blacked out, second, the back side of the trim had been blacked out at
some time...

The new "Ford" pieces I just bought are not blacked out...

What was original? Nothing in the resources I have mention it...
And I know that Ford has become economic (cheap?) about some of the
parts that are still "in production" for the early Mustangs...
