Hi,

It's Chris "too much cam" again.

I busted the original bellhousing and T5 adapter plate on my Mustang during
the Hockenheim dragrace. I had it welded saturday morning, but the cracks
opened again on the way back home.

I have a 1966 Mustang that has a 1974 302 and a T5 tranny. The engine is
heavily modified and produces about 380 hp at 7000 rpm. Right now I use the
original 1966 aluminium bellhousing and an adapter plate for the T5. I´d
like to replace those with a steel bellhousing and retain the long style
clutch linkage. I do not want to convert to a cable operated 5.0 clutch.

Who has experience with these steel SFI bellhousings in an early Mustang ?
How is header clearence ? Has someone got one of those for sale ?

What would you recommend ?

Best regards,

I've been using a Lakewood housing for about 6 years now with a 5 speed
tranny.
I have Hooker Headers and haven't had any clearance problem with either.

Bummer about cracking the alum. housing!
