I have just been presented with an opportunity to buy a convertible 65
Mustang.

I haven't had the opportunity to run it yet. I plan on taking it for a test
drive 2morrow after work.

It's a 1965 convertible. The 6 cyl engine was just remanufactured.

It has the sought after "Pony" interior.

It has all new hoses, belts, etc.

New fuel tank & all fuel lines, all new brake lines and wheel cylinders.

New floor panels, and has had the sheet metal in the cowls replaced.

It has a new carpet, new seatbelts, new Master Cylinder,

new 4 speed tranny.

Top is serviceable and waterproof, but could probably benefit from
replacing.

Paint serviceable, but does have a few "parking lot" chips.

And top it off with the car still has all matching ID #'s on the block, axle
& Body.

The owner wants $13,500 and is willing to negotiate.

Here's some links to some pics of it:

What do you guys think? Is she worth it?

The whole key to a '65 convert is the body. It sounds like a lot of work
went into this one floors and cowl work are expensive and time consuming. If the
work was done well it should last. The 6-cylinder cars are climbing in value.
Many are being restomodded to 5.0s or stroker V-8s. If you are not concerned
with originality a really clean 6 is often a better buy than a V-8 that
needs lots of body work.

I would rather do mechanical work any day.

It really depends on what you want to have or do with it. $13k isn't bad if
the car is real clean. My '641/2 was pretty clean form the southwest. I still
ended up replacing both quarters starting rust and dents and the nose due to
dents in both fenders that had been pulled and filled. It is less expensive
to replace than to repair and risk rust coming back through a nice paint job.
I did mine in '99 and it still looks great despite driving it about 3,000
miles cross country.

Sorry guys, my website was temporarily not accepting anymore hits. I had
exceeded my hourly transfer limit.

I've reduced the image sizes to something a bit more reasonable. It should
be back up within the hour.

Lance.
