The exhaust is getting the gas.

Well, I went ahead today and took the plunge. I received
my Dr. Gas synchronizing crossover from UPS about 9:00
this morning, so I immediately took the car over to the
local muffler and brake shop and had them start putting
everything on. I must say, the quality of the crossover
seemed to be quite good. It was made out of thick 2.5
inch aluminized steel. It seemed quite strong. The bends
in the pipe were very clean, with little or no wrinkling
or diameter change evident. The crossover itself waS very
solidly welded, and the areas where the pipes were joined
were reasonably smooth. All in all, a real professional
job.

The shop began pulling my old exhaust off immediately. I
wanted to stay and watch, but my employer is a real old
fashioned type. He actually expects me to work if I want
to receive a paycheck. :-). About 2:30, I got a call from
the muffler shop. There was some interference between the
Thermactor system air injection ports and the TriY headers.
The stock manifolds have a notch milled in them allow the
air-injector tube to enter in just above the exhaust port.
Millling the TriYs to mimic the stock manifolds would have
dangerously reduced the level of metal in the header, to
point where it might not even seal. Frantically, I ran
across the street to the local auto parts place to see if
they had some allen plugs for the holes. The plugs could
only be deep enough to fit flush with the top of the heads,
or they would interfere as thoroughly as the original
injectors had. Luckily for me, the auto parts store
(Novato Auto Parts, a very cool place to check out for
anyone who lives in Marin County) not only knew the size
of the plugs, but they had eight of them in stock. I
bought the plugs, and whipped back over to the muffler
shop.

Anyway, the old system if off, the headers and the Shelby
under-the-axle traction bars are on, and the crossover
and the rest of the exhaust system go on tomorrow morning.
I will, of course, make a full report as soon as I actually
get the car back and have a chance to test my lead right
foot. We will see if the Dr. Gas crossover lives up to its
billing. I have to say, though, that so far, I have been
most impressed with the company.

Howdy David, I'm not familiar with your car. Please advise what year
car and engine size that the Dr Gas synchronizer is being put on.
