Well I have finally got my '67 fastback back on the ground after having been on jackstands for the last two months. I was putting my drivers seat back in to drive around the block and settle the supsension, and I looked one last time for a build sheet (last place it could be).I really wanted to find it. Anyhow, no build sheet but there is a small (2" x 4"winking smiley leather tag with three lines of text pressed into it that is hog ringed to the springs. What is this? The text is just letters, almost like a real long VIN.

Anyhow what started as wanting to upgrade to disc brakes and needing to replace a headlight bucket, here is what got in the way.
* All the interior came out (changing to black)
* All the front sheet metal came off (for one headlight bucket)
* All the suspension came off
* The brake pedal hanger and assembly came out (to install a clutch pedal for a future Tremec)
* New lower arms (am I the only person that had to buy both sizes of poly bushings before they got the right ones)
* Eccentric eliminator.
* Total Control Upper Arms lowered 1-1/2"
* Poly bushings in the spring saddles.
* 600# 1" drop coils
* Poly seats.
* Poly strut bushings (my strut rods had a upward return that hit the new spindles on full turn and since my steering is manual, SNIP!)
* Granada Brakes
* 1" sway bar
* 4-1/2" mid-eye rear leafs with poly bushings and Mustangs Plus Race Shackles (Some machining tools would really start to save me some money)
* Rear sway bar (not installed, not sure if I need it)
* 15" x 7" Torque Thrust D w/ 225/50/15 Potenza's (real soft)
* Everything that came off was primed and blacked.
* Monte Carlo brace that won't clear the dist. Cap (Oh well, it will have to wait until the 351 goes in)

At first when I put it back on the ground I thought something was wrong, it just kept on lowering and lowering. It took about two seconds until I realized that this low + those wheels = Wimbledon White new paint with blue GT stripes. Hope this is all worth it.

Each piece that was used to make a Mustang had some form of
identification from the maker (outside sources in many cases) The tag
you found is similar to some we find. More common in this location is a
thin metal tag people often ask questions about.
