Would you recommend adding a Panhard rod to a 66 Fastback? If you were
building a wish list to make your mustang handle, what would you add?
What out this rack-n-pinion system from Sacremento mustang?

If you are going to add 15 X 7 American Thrust-D rims, what size tires
would be recommended on this stock mustang without rubbing? Does
American make a 16" rim and would it fit?

Thanks!

Halibrand make a Torq thrust wheel in sizes 14x6 thru 16x10. I think a 15x7
with a 225/60 tire up front and a 15x8 with 235/60 at the back would do
nicely...
Vintage wheelworks also do a 16x8 Torq Thrust with the correct backspacing
(4 and a half inches) for early Mustangs...

Here's a question for all suspension experts. I'm thinking (again) about
rebuilding the suspension on a 67 convertible. It has a 289 manual
transmission, with 1" front sway bar, export brace, and monte carlo bar. I
want a good street ride and the best handling I can get. From my reading,
I'm looking at two basic assemblies:

1. Global West (I finally found them in CA): Negative Roll upper arms and
their lower arms with Del-A-Lum bushings, Eibach variable rate springs,
Koni shocks, and Pro motor Sports bump steer correction kit.

2. Pro Motor Sports negative wedge camber correction kit, Global West lower
control arms (with ball bearing bushings), Koni shocks, Pro Motor Sports
(Eibach) variabel rate springs, and the Pro motor Sports bump steer
correction kit.

And ..... I have a few questions. The Global West Negative roll kit
requires (at least according to the people a global West) that the upper
arm be lowered 1-3/4 inches. Is this too much because I've read more than
once that one inch is the maximun the front end should be lowered? If the
front is lowered 1-3/4 inches does this present any additional problem like
the tires (205/70/14) rubbing on the fender?

Just how good are the variable rate springs? Does the bump steer kit really
help and how does it improve handling? Finally, is there anyone out there
that has had experience with both of these Negative Wedge/Roll assemblies
and can compare them?

I've seen a wide variety of opinions about the "best" suspension to put on
these cars, but since the geometry on these cars should be basically the
same, it seems that there should be an "ideal" setup that would give me the
best street handling. I don't want a bone jarring ride but don't mind the
ride being a little stiff. Any helpl will be appreciated.
