Sorry for taking so long to respond regarding the Summit carb. I ordered a
SUM-M08600VS (600 CFM, vac secondaries, electric choke) to replace an
Autolite 4300 on my 70 Mach 1 351C.

The first carburetor was received within a few days after placing the order.
I noticed a few quality-related issues with it and notified Summit. Without
any questions they said they would provide me another carb, which I received
two days later. Only problem was the fuel line was missing so I notified
them when it arrived on a Friday and of my desire to get the Mach 1 running
for the weekend. They shipped another carb to me overnight air for Saturday
delivery.

Installation was straightforward. Surprisingly my socket throttle cable
connected directly to the ball stud furnished with the carb so I had none of
the linkage issues others have discussed. The car started up without any
problems. The only adjustments I have made so far are the level in both
bowls and the idle speed. Everything else was good out of the box although
I am planning to do more testing and tweaking. Vast improvement over the
4300!

I had heard of Summit's customer service. I was well pleased with their
eagerness to serve and make me happy.

Mike

I recently installed a Petronix Ignitor II and Flamethrower II coil on my 70
Mach I. Other than the Summit carb I just installed (and wrote about
earlier) it is a stock 351C 4V, wide-ratio toploader, 3.50 Traction-Lok.

I am curious about experience others have had with spark plugs and
especially with the Petronix Ignitor II and Flamethrower II.

What are the best plugs for this application?

I have heard of widening the gap on plugs when using this coil due to the
increased voltage. Does anyone have any comments on this?

What are the opinions on the use of multi-electrode plugs? Are any changes
required for using these plugs?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Mike
