I have a serious problem in my '67 Mustang convertible, and it has to do with
subs. Basically, there's too much crap (ie. top motors, support structures)
between the trunk and the driver's compartment for decent bass to make it
through, plus the rumble of the exhaust wipes out most of it anyway.
The solution I've thought of is mounting a single sub in the stock speaker
location in the dash, which points up at the windshield. I was hoping someone
might recommend the perfect free-air (ie. mounting without a box) sub to put in
this location.
I'm more of a tweaker than a boomer - I wasnt smooth, blended bass to go with
the MBQuart 4" mid/tweeter combos I have in the kick panels, not something that
just thumps.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know of anythin that would fit in the stock dash area, but,
Custom Auto Sound sells a sub, that mounts in the trunk, on the spare
tire, it is a Pioneer unit, I think...
