I'd like to know if anyone else has had experience with using the
reproduction seat foam with 69 or 70 high-back buckets (Mach 1). I
installed a new set of internal foam padding when I replaced the upholstery
on my Mach 1, and am noticing now that it is very "stiff" compared to
sitting behind the wheel of other unrestored (even low mileage) Mustangs of
this year. I actually sit an inch or so higher on mine than on an original
car. It was quite a stretch to get the new upholstery over the seat foam,
and the upholstery was odd in that it didn't allow use of the metal "coat
hanger wire" that runs horizontally in these seats. Anyone been through
this process? Satisfied with the results? Have "stiff" seats like mine?

Jon-
did my seats over a few years back, converting standard seats to pony style.
New foam was a b#$%^ to get upholstery over, and finished product was like
yours- noticably harder than any originals etc. I think the foam is
definately more dense than they used 30 years ago.
I have a friend that can't really sit in the car as his head touchs the roof,
but he's a freak of nature anyway- 6-4 with 32" inseam.........After 2-3
years, they're a little softer but still firm and comfortable
Tom C
'65 k fastback- mexican 302 is the winter project
'82 GT - for sale :-(
