Anyone out there have advice on finding wider 14" stock-type steel wheels
for a '65 coupe? I would like to keep my stock wire/spinner wheel covers but
go to a wider tire than the 205/70R14s that I've got mounted now. As I
understand it, the 5" wide stock wheels won't handle any more than a 205, so
I need to step up to a 6" or 6.5" to get into 235/65R14 territory.
Advice on what Ford wheels might fit would be appreciated.

John, 4 or 5 lug? I'd suggest just going to a junk yard.
Around here a tire and rim is $10-15 each.
If you tell them you only want the rims and pick
bad or bald tires they might even be less.
A good choice for wider Ford rims are late model
RWD Dodge cars, like the Diplomat. Many of them
use the same 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern.
Good Luck,

I have a 70 coupe, and the wheels that came on it were 7" wide. I have fit a
245/60r14 on them with no problem.

I actually have a good answer on this one... Try MOPAR wheels. They have the
same config as FORD, but they made wider wheels than FORD....
