Cables? Mine needed a fresh set of cables. Larger gauge wire helped a lot.

I'd make sure your cables from your battery to solenoid to starter *and*
ground are clean and tight.

What was the problem before changing the parts? More info may get you better answers. Check your battery voltage (12.8 sitting and 10+ volts while cranking) to verify it is fully charged and a secondary problem hasn't caused a false symptom. You can also test your cables and connections with a set of jumper cables. Attach the jumpers along-side the standard cables to help them. If the symptoms change, you've found your (or one of the) culprits.
Good luck!

I must concur. As simple and not-likely-to-work as it sounds, it's always
been the cure for that same symptom for me since 1980.

Bad connection(s) either to ground, solenoid or starter motor. Check all
the big cables for corrosion, tightness or frayed strands.
