I was at Pick'n'Pull today where I spotted a automatic overdrive tranny in
a '81 Lincoln Continental. The pan reads "Automatic Overdrive - METRIC".
What's up with the Metric?? I assume this is an SROD, how much
better/worse is it opposed to the AOD?

Also I discovered that those $100 1-inch front sway bars can be had for
$10. Found one on a Granada ESS (ESS? Extra Silky Smooth? Heh).

Oh, my '68 also could use a new instrument cluster housing, most of the
silver stuff has disappeared. The repros are ~$60. Can anyone comment on
the quality?

The SROD is a manual transmission. Toaploader with internal linkage and an overdrive
4th gear

Check out last month's or the month before Mustang Monthly. They did an
article on the differences between the new and repo instument clusters.
The main focus was '67-'68 so it should help guide you.
