I recall that there's a small mod or two to perform on a 428CJs stock distributor settings that really wake things up. Somewhat recall there's some mention of this in the now-very-old 69 or 70 Off-road Performance Guide or some-such-name book that was out around the time these things were new. Anyone know what I'm talking about??

I'd like to get my pure-stock '70 Mach 1 (4-spd) out to the track this year and would really like to tune it right. Any tips on small tweaks that reall make a CJ fly? Please, no suggestions of cam swaps/headers/aftermarket bolt-ons. Thinking more in terms of initial timing advance/advance rate changes, carb jetting, carb secondary stuff, that sort of thing.

Thanks In Advance!

Jon
