I'm about to change my plugs. Can anyone recommend a specific type? I've
got a 289 with the Holley 4 bbl in my '66 and use my car to commute
(freeway & surface streets).

I know I'm about to open a can of worms but... how about the splitfire
type? A friend says that, not withstanding all the talk of how these plugs
are more marketing hype than reality, he thinks he felt some real power
gain using them.

Also, can you explain the resistor/non-resistor choice? I get static on my
AM radio which increases as I hit the accelerator. Resistor plugs should
cure this, no?

Thanks for the help.

Mark

PS. I finally have pictures of my car up on the web. It's an ivy green 66
GT convertible. If you want to take a look, check out

I go with Autolite or NGK.
Splitfire got sued by the FTC if I remember correctly and can no longer
advertise a power increase.
In reallity any new plug will perform better then an old set that has many
miles on them.
I have no idea bout those Platinum types.
