Hi Sixto,

My name is Steve Ainsworth. I go by the board name "Ultrastang" =
(Ultrastang is actually my '68 Mustang's name though).=20

I had seen a good while back where you were giving some of the details =
about your R&P you were trying to developed.=20

I was talking to a good friend of mine (H=E5kan =D6stlund) who lives in =
Sweden. He told me about your bad experience of having "thieves" steal =
your R&P idea and run with it for a profit --A profit that should =
rightfully have been yours!

I know what that feels like too, since recently I made a post at =
Mustang Steve's about installing a Fox Mustang 5.0L booster in a '67-'70 =
Mustang. He picked me for some specifics on how I did it, and now he's =
trying to cash in on it by marketing the installations for his own =
profit.

I had known the 2.3L Fox boosters would work in the '65-'66 Mustangs, =
since I had installed one in my own '66 fastback in 1996. However, I =
didn't have a computer then, much less a website way back then, so there =
was no way I could have posted a installation like this on the web for =
others to see.
Mustang Steve touts this swap as "being his booster swap," but best I =
can deduce, MS didn't realize this booster would work in the very early =
Mustangs until some time around 1999. If this is the case, then I knew =
about it 3 full years ahead of him.

MS doesn't really have much knowledge of the Mustangs past the '66 =
models. Since I had a '68 Mustang (I've owned it for 20 years now), I =
decided I would be the "first" to post photos on the www of the 2.3L =
booster installed in a post '66 Mustang. I succeeded with the =
installation in my '68!
However, there was a problem going into this --a problem I was well =
aware of before going into the installation of the 2.3L booster in my =
'68. I have a T5 transmission and back last year, I purchased a JMC =
hydraulic clutch setup. With the 2.3L booster installed, it covered up =
the hole in the firewall where the JMC MC needed to mount. The 2.3L =
booster would have rendered the hyd. MC useless, and I would have had to =
resort to using a cable actuated clutch instead. This would have been =
ok, except I had $410 dollars invested in the hyd. clutch system, and I =
didn't really want to lose this much money in not being able to use it. =
I wanted to try and make it work with the booster installed.

This is when I started thinking about the 5.0L version of the Fox =
booster. I have a '90 Mustang GT parts car and decided to rob the small =
diameter booster off of it to see if it would fit my car. To my =
surprise, it did! Its smaller diameter (smaller than the 2.3L booster's =
diameter) also gave me back the much need room around the booster to be =
able to install the Hyd. clutch MC on the firewall next to the brake =
booster!

H=E5kan has been working on a R&P unit for a number of months now. He =
stopped development of it during the summer to install some EFI =
components (I gave to him) in his '67 Mustang.
H=E5kan was asking me about posting pictures of what he'd done with =
the R&P unit, because people were asking him about it. I told him I =
thought he would be better off not posting anything specific about the =
system he was working on, and especially not to post any pictures of it =
where someone could tell what it was. He had just written me a letter =
tonight saying he was glad he took my advise --especially now with what =
has happened to you.

I know saying I'm sorry for your loss doesn't make it any better, but =
the good thing is this person will get what's coming to him --what goes =
around comes around buddy!

Take care, Sixto!

Steve ( ultrastang )
