I took a voltage reading across the battery and got a nearly constant
output as suggested by one of you guys. So.o.o.o...I hooked up a wire directly
from the negative side of the coil to the guage and I get a good constant
reading. I guess going off the accessory fuse on the fuse box was not
realiable. Once again, I thank each on of you for your input. Jim

You mean the positive side of the coil, unless you have it wired
backwards.....I've done that..... the Negative side goes
to the distributor to get grounded by the points.....

...but only when the points are closed, when open it should
read pretty near battery voltage assuming a high internal
resistance VM. But when the car is running, it will
jump back and forth.... ;-)
