Hello,

I'm posting now to get more information for, and hopefully make better
decisions for my next Mustang smiling smiley

I am in the researching and planning stages of building a 1967 Shelby
GT-350 clone with improvements and customized options. I haven't yet
acquired any of these parts. Concerning the powerplant, I can
reconstruct a GT350 engine well enough, but to give it a bit more power,
I'm wondering if adding a Paxton supercharger will be worth the money.
I'd also like to know if anyone can tell me the pros and cons of
superchargers in small blocks. They drastically increase horsepower, I
hear, but do they decrease gas mileage at all? Do they wear out often?
How often should I clean/service the supercharger setup?

Also, instead of finding a 289 powerplant, I've wondered if using a 302
GT-40 engine block from Shelby American would be a better choice for
performance, (and yes, gas mileage. This is to be a driver, mostly but
it won't be used every day). Expensive, but rewarding efforts, I think,
if I choose to undertake them. I plan at least to do the supercharger,
if not the Shelby engine block smiling smiley

Any comments or suggestions would be appriciated. Thank you in advance
smiling smiley
