Howdy all.

Without going into the long version of the story, I now own a 64 1/2
Mustang with the 260 V8 and the generator.

I need to buy a shop manual for it. Is the Chilton's manual the
way to go or is there something better out there?

It does not run (yet).

The fan belt is loose. This engine has no extra accessories, so the
belt basically goes around the crank pulley, the water pump, and the
generator.

There is a slotted bracket under the generator that is obviously used to
tighten it down, and put tnesion on the belt. There is a hole in one corner
of the generator housing that seems to be used to hold to the above bracket,
but they do not overlap.

The generator is just pivoting on its engine mount and there is nothing
there to tighten it against the belt. There must be a part that connects the
generator to this slotted bracket underneath it.

Something is missing. Does anyone know what it is and where I can get one?

Many more questions to come... But I'll ask them in separate e-mails...

Thanks!

-Zim

Jason,

I'd go with the Ford Shop manual, miles ahead of the Chiltons manual. It is
available from most any Mustang Parts Vendor.
