Kathleen - YOU GO GIRL!!!!!
Bill
I receive the same reaction to cars from my wife. She is into other projects
like this last Saturday morning she took all the tile off the bathroom walls
- thought it would be a nice "week-end" project to re-do the walls. As of
Sunday night there is a toilet and a tub in a room with (effectively) no
walls - had to remove all the drywall because of the damage - some created
and some found dormant behind the concealment...
Like any restoration project now we are looking at a "resto-mod". Since she
started this I related it to "the Car" (as she calls it) - if I'm going to
have the body restored I am not going to ignore the suspension just because
nobody can see it while you sit inside the car... She still has a little
trouble with my "obsession" to fix things that wont be seen from where she
will sit in the car.
The bathroom is moving faster than the car is - I have her help. It seams
that she is constantly asking about when I'm going to work on "the car" -
then when I actually work on the car she starts asking why I am not working
on something else...
Well, at least I have a toilet (the one and only for our house) that works
and we could take a bath if we really had to. Not to worry, we are currently
doing those chores at work in one of the staff showers.
Ah, married life. You gotta love it or you would leave it, right? Good thing
I love her more than any of those other projects.
Kathleen keep up the good work for all of women kind.

My girlfriend is also into classic cars, except for one small problem. She's
from the dark(Ch*vy) side. She bought a 1971 Monte Carlo. Boy you ought to hear
the Ford/Ch*vy comments in our house. She tells me that Fords suck. I reply,
"That's right, Fords do suck. Fords suck Chevies in the carb, and blow them out
the mufflers as usless exhaust".
Kidding aside (for now), we like all brands. She druels as much as I do when we
go to a car shows. She says that she's going to do as much work as she can on
her car. The rest is up to me and the mechanic.
