A dealer error. When they submitted the paper work, they mistakenly
titled it as a 1964, since the 1965 model year hadn't officially
started.

It's a typo -- plain and simple.
The responses to this thus far seem to have assumed this is an "Early '65",
and written it off as an understandable error. But it *can't* be -- since
the 289 'C'-code wasn't offered until the start of "regular" 1965
production in August 1964. And although Brian himself made a "typo" in
submitting his VIN with a seven-digit Consecutive Unit Number, if it *does*
in fact begin with a "7", it couldn't have been built prior to mid-April
*1965*!
Some bozo at the Dealership or the DMV just couldn't type...

I found out the total serial number on the title is: 4F07C781136:
Fender says: 5F07C781136:
Sorry 'bout the typo.
I think the title was a dealer typo though, as the #4 goes back on the
title all the way to the original owner.
Thanks all, your thoughts are always appreciated.

p.s. I too wouldn't mind getting a cheap rotisserie, I'm in WI!
