Two questions. First, does anyone rebuild the old Ford radios? The
radio I have in my 66 never worked sine I got the car. I'd like to have
it rebuilt if possible.
Second question. My wife has a 90 convertible and the radio light went
out. I took off the face place and saw a pencil eraser sized
bulb/lamp. The bulb has a frosted surface and is marked "268" and "S9"
on the side. Took the Ohm meter and the bulb has infinite resistance
(burnt out). Does anyone know where I can find this bulb?
Thanks,
Garry

You'll have to get this from the dealer. Probably $10-$20 and most
likely a special order, but it's a weird bulb and you probably won't
find it anywhere else
A friend just did the same this in his '90
Tbird, so I assume it's the same deal.

I have an address for a guy who does repair old radios. He fixes them
to work as original for $125 plus parts. I am sending him an 8-track
here shortly. No idea of how good he is...just got his name from a
friend:
www.antiquecarradio.com - email: (email redacted) ... the
business is in Texas
Write him before you send anything out and he can answer your
questions.
These guys also can "gut" your radio and fill it with modern
components. This service is quite a bit more expensive...$400 plus...

Thanks,
Kevin
