I read in one of the monthly mags this month that in addition to the
Granada/Monarch/Versailles rear end swap, late model Explorer parts and
Lincoln Mark series parts could be used, with modifications. I'm
familiar with the Granada swap, but finding one locally is turning out
to be a pain. Anybody know details about the Explorer or Lincoln parts
fitting? I've seen plenty of Mark VII's in the local junkyard.

Go to your library and check out Hot Rod, October 1995, pages 72+.
There is an article on the Ford SVO rear disc kit for 8.8" and 9"
rear ends. This uses the Ford Explorer 8.8" rear disc brake parts.

While at the library, check out Hot Rod, March 1982, pages 90+ for
more rear brake info. They have a swap using '82 Continental parts.
Also, the article mentions Bill Maier of Maier Racing having a kit.
You might want to give Maier Racing a call to see what is available.
My copy lists the phone number of 510-581-7600. I don't know if
this is still current.

Also listed in this article is the company C.H. Grove Enterprises
out of Bellevue, WA, 206-747-8264. They have a kit that "adapts
early Ford front floating calipers (found on '68-73 Mustang and Cougar,
'68-69 Comet and Falcon, '68-'71 Fairlane, and '70-'71 Montego)
to most Ford 9-inch rearends. It comes compete with caliper brakets,
backing plate spacers, and all necessary mounting hardware."

And if your library is really cool, October 1974 issue of Car
Craft has an article titled "Cheap Discs". My one page
"photocopied more times than Dad's dirty joke file" isn't very
helpful (or readable).
