Just got my original '66 PS pump back from Precision Products, who rebuilt
it for me. I have to put a plug in for them - they did a fantastic job,
even to getting the dents in the can out and the paint right (I had one of
the less-common blue ones). They're not particularly speedy (it took a few
weeks) but on the other hand, it was well worth the wait.

Hey Dan-

It's always nice to see referrals for companies that do good work. Do
you have contact info for Precision Products?

The guy who does this is named Randy.

They do all sorts of steering stuff, like steering boxes, PS pumps, PS
control valves, etc.. I think they're mostly Ford (specifically, Mustang).

What did it cost? I have a slat neck AC pump for my 66 that needs to
be rebuilt.

Thanks!

Mine was $99, including shipping back to me, a new pulley (mine was shot),
and the rebuild itself. I think the pulley was $20, so a rebuild sans
pulley would be about $75 or so.

I would recommend Roger Rode at Rode's Restoration in Ohio.

I mailed my steering box to Roger on Wednesday and it was back on my
door step the following Tuesday. Roger is 2 states away from me, so I
was impressed. He did a fantastic job and he is reasonably priced! I
have bought other p/s parts from Roger. He is a machinest and has the
specs for some of the original brackets, etc.

I decided to go with Roger after seeing a couple of horror stories about
others having mailed their parts to Texas and not having any idea when
and if they were going to get them back.

It's best to give Roger a call. He can't keep up with e-mail with his
work load.

David
