Hi,

Does anyone, by chance, have a clear picture of a V-8 engine on the web,
particularily one that shows the power steering pump bracket (and how
it's installed).

I took mine apart two years ago and forgot how many pieces are involved,
and how it's orientated.  None of my friends with mustangs live near me
so I can look.

Will

Will,

I don't have any pictures of the P/S bracket but would have no problem
checking out any details on my mustang. Not sure if your '70 351C bracket is
the same as the one on my '69 302?

In Tom's case maybe someone else can help?

Hi Will
Having recently acquired a scanner, I'll grab a pic of my power steering
bracket setup tonight. I'll have it available to you this weekend.
Incidentally, my engine's a '70 as well, so it should be comparable.

I have the '67 ford shop manual. I will see if I can find a picture to scan
and e-mail or xerox and fax you (the fax will happen sooner). E-mail off
line for a fax number.

JW,

Thanks, I appreciate that.  Try if you can to get different angles, or
anything that would help in putting the pump in the bracket and the bracket to
the engine.  I even forget whether there's more than one piece involved for
the bracket assembly.

Seems to me... The best thing would be to go to the nearest 'pull your own'
wrecking yard, pay the buck to get in and look at the fords of the same vintage
with a 302... There are usually scads of other models yet the brackets were the
same on many... Just a thought...

Regards....

I have a 302 in my '70. (had, now I have a EFI 5.0...)

The PS pump bracket is rather simple.
It has a peice of metal, bent so that it fits on to two bosses on the water
pump. I think it will only fit on those two.
The other end has two holes, one round, one a slot.
The pump has a bracket on it and it attaches to the other bracket with 2
bolts...

It's been my understanding that the brackets, spacers, etc. were all a bit
different from each other for the different engines available in '70. 302,
351W, and 351C are different blocks, head spacing, and water pumps so it
seems likely that one setup may not fit another engine. Also if AC is
present that's another can o'worms.

I had the same problem but for 351W so I have several .jpg's for that and a
couple for 302. I only have one shot for a Cleveland and the bracket is
very different from everything else. It's a very clear shot & I'll send it
to you directly.
