pertronix, 12v and tach

I also tried the pertronix using regular ignition voltage through
resistor wire, then to straight 12 volts as Pertronix recommends. I
can't say I noticed a difference in running.
You should also have access to an ignition circuit wire going to the
voltage regulator, in the engine compartment. I think it is red-green,
but may differ by year and equipment.
The tach is wired off the resistor wire, which is on the positive side
of the wiring, but in terms of the resistor wire, it is on the negative
side, since one end of the wire is 12v / battery voltage, making the
tach side of the resistor wire negative relative to battery voltage.
Its all relative!

No, you won't because the Pertronix is a switch. It either works or it
doesn't based on the voltage you are getting.
