oil pressure...stumped

I'd worry about something else if I measured 50psi. This is similar
pressure I got from a mechanical gauge when I fired up the 351w for the
first time.

I agree. When I fire my 351C cold, it hits 60 pretty darned immediately.
Within a couple minutes, as the motor (and oil) warms up, it drops down to
normal levels.
