Oil Pan Removal 1969 Mach 1 351

Can you really remove the oil pan and replace the gaskets without pulling
the engine? I hope so.

On a '66 Mustang with a 289 the answer is yes. Have done
it a few times.

I did it about a year ago on my '66 289. I removed as little extra stuff as
possible but I got it in there with some strategically applied pressure. Let
the car sit as long as possible after having been driven before you do it. The
engine drips oil forever and if you're impatient like I was, you get oil drops
in you mouth, hair, etcetera. Because of that, it was the messiest car repair
I've ever done, although not very difficult.
