Actually, this is about as far as you can get from a Mustang, but I
thought I'd post it anyways smiling smiley

I'm trying to find *someone* out there who owns a mid-late '80s S-10
pickup. I need to get a measurement of the stroke of the clutch's slave
cylinder.

Why? Well, I'm thinking that I am going to adapt the hydraulic clutch
setup frmo an S-10 to use on the Mustang. The master cylinder for it is
a small diameter unit with a remotely-mounted reservoir (perfect for
power brake cars), and could be hooked to the slave cylinder via a
high-pressure hose or steel line. Only problem is mounting the slave cyl
(just have to fabricate a bracket of some sort), and the travel of the
slave piston.. I measured the travel of the mechanical linkage (at the
clutch fork) on a '65 with a 4-speed, it was about 1-1/4".

Working from memory:

The slave cylinder itself is about 4" long.

I place max throw at 2-3". I know it's a gues but it worked in my car. I
mounted the slave close in to the bellhousing anyway.

This sounds like an interesting project... seems I remember a Ford
hydraulic conversion kit for mid-80's Mustangs and Thunderbirds (they
had those plastic gear things that always stripped). In any case, I
would be interested in hearing how you fare...
