Can someone educate me on kick-down linkages? I have a 351C (2V) with C6 in
a '77 Ranchero. Does a kick-down work on two barrels? Are these not
standard, ie, wouldn't it have come that way? I assume I can buy one on the
aftermarket (LOKAR for example).
Thanks for the education,
Ken

Yes, all automatic transmissions have them. The "kickdown" transmits the
throttle position to the trans and it adjusts line pressure based on
throttle opening. With enough throttle, then trans will downshift. Lots
of people take thme off, but it's not really good for the trans. In fact,
if you don't use or misadjust the cable on an AOD, you can destroy the
trans in minutes. Lokar makes an easy to use and install cable. You will
need the carb bracket to mount it correctly.
