I would like to be un-subscribed from this list.

Is this e-mail all that is required, or do I need to do something else?

I am restoring a 1968 stang w/302. Its headers are getting in the way =
of the power steering hose setup. Is there anything I can do before =
removing the headers and going back to the original manifolds. I know =
there is a bracket that is available that modifies this problem but I am =
not sure if it will work in my situation. Any suggestions?

Hey guys,

I was hoping that somebody could help me diagnose a weird noise that my front suspension is making.

The car: 66 convertible with 302 roller motor and C4, with Granada disk conversion and newly rebuilt front end...converted with all v8 suspension and steering parts. Upper control arms were dropped one inch per "Shelby" template.

The symptom: When driving is a straight line, and then turning slightly off center to the right, the car makes a fairly small banging, or popping noise from the driver's side front end. The sound seems to occur once every wheel rotation. The sound goes away when I straighten the wheel or turn to the left.

What we've already checked: My roommate and I put the car up on ramps and checked the wheel bearings, control arms, balljoints, tie-rods, strut rod, sway bar, shock, caliper, dust shield, etc. for looseness. Everything on the car was tight. Nothing seemed to be interfering with anything else. The wheels that I am using came from the same Granada as the brake setup. I switched the front wheels and the noise did not go away. I thought that I'd solicit advice before inspecting the wheel bearings and possibly switching with the other side of the car.

All parts on the front end of the car are new, EXCEPT the following:

Outer tie rods - junkyard Granada parts that I took with the spindles, seem to be OK
Shocks - reused, seem to function
Coil springs -reused, some sag
The spindles themselves, seem to be OK
Rotors - came with the spindles and I had them machined

When I put the car together, I used new bearings, races, and seals, and installed the races properly (I think) with a brass drift.

I am at a loss and would appreciate any advice.

Tom
