Hey everyone. This one's driving me nuts. I got back
from the Ukiah car show...lots of fun...and began
tinkering with the car problem again.

So far...

adjusted carb...still dies all of a sudden at random
mostly after warm.

hooked up a vacume guage...at idle it shows between
13-14 lbs with a tiny bit of fluctuation between the
two...nothing wild...and about 18 lbs at a steady rev
about 1500 rpm. So I am not noticing any wild vacume
leaks.

I replaced the cap and rotor just to be sure as well
as the feul filter. I got a glass one so I could see
in the damn thing.

Now for the twist. I was walking up the stair to go
into the house for a second and my left blinker was
blinking. No problem...went down to turn it off and
let the car idle a bit more. Going back up the
stairs...the blinker was blinking again. Seems as if
the blinker unit it making the blinking noise...even
if the light isn't flashing (not in a turn possition)
but not always. Blinkers work fine otherwise and I did
replace the whole steering wheel wiring
harness/blinker thingy about a year and a half ago.

Could this be causing the car dieing?? If so obviously
some other electrical problem here. Where to go with
this one.

I'm going to rebuild the Holly 4 barrel tomorrow too
as well as rplace the relay for the blinker.

Love to hear any ideas. TIA

Big Homer Simpson DOH!
Fixed what I thought was my carb problem today and the
semi goofy blinker problem. Reaching into the car from
the window to start the car my arm brushed the
emergency flasher...which doesn't work right...thus
the semi-spooky do it whenever it felt like blinker.

Also I put in a KILL switch a couple of years ago. The
switch had broken and was making contact whenever it
wanted...thus killing the car dead. The only when the
car was warm part just happened as it must have
vibrated enough by then to make my life hell. Now all
I have to do is readjust the carb and bleed my brakes
and my wife can have her 68 back and I can enjoy my 67
fastback once more...although I have to drop the new
radiator...uneventfully I hope...in tomorrow.

Thanks for all the great ideas and keepiing me sane.
