Hello All!
I am a fellow Ford Enthusiast, I have just completed a frame up restoration
of a '53 F-100 to original, and I am looking for my next project. After
camping out on the Galaxie List, the Fordnatics List, and the Ford
Truck list, I have come to the conclusion that I may want to seriously
look at a Mustang as my next project(nothing against those guys, there
are some great threads). This next project is going to
be a daily driver, and my budget is limited, that is why I'm leaning
towards a Mustang. They are still a good bargain and parts are easy
to find. After reading the article in Mustang and Fords, about Stock
or Modified (apologies to the author, I don't have it with me right
now...), it seems that a 65 A code can be tweaked a little, for not
a lot of $$$. Which leads me to my question. I have to wait until
August before I can jump (new house & Lease is up on current ride)
but I was wondering where the best deals are? I am in Denver, and
could travel a bit. I only want to spend about $3k or less on a road
worthy car. Does this seem practical, or am I way off base? I have
not looked at any, but I have been looking in the papers, and this
seems about right. If possible, I want to get a straight car that
will go from home to the park-and-ride, that I can work on over the
weekend. I look forward to your collective opinions....Thanks!

Hi from Aurora.
My body man Dave works at Mustang Classics and is putting some of the
finishing touches on his Mustang. Please don't hold me to this, but I think
he wants about 3500 for it. He was talking about sanding it all down and
putting it in primer and then offering a good paint deal on it. This way
you can choose your color for your car. He does a great paint job (wins
shows all over). If you get down to Mustang Classics, you can see the
Silver Jade 1969 GT Convertible he just finished, although I took the car in
to check the brakes at Midas and they failed to put the lug nuts on one tire
which flew off and now it is back in the shop again. You can reach dave at
295-3140.

Had a similar problem with Midas, they did put the lug nuts
back on, just forgot to tighten them! At least the brakes work.

I had a similar problem with Tire Kingdom. They forgot to take off their
impact wrench socket, and slammed the wheel cover on over it. Really
threw the balance off on the front end.....
They gave me a new tire, free.....
