I got a new gas tank and sending unit installed yesterday by the local garage-
I'm stuck with an IV in my hand for the next 6 weeks for some extra strong
antibiotics or it's something I might have tried myself. I'm sure I could have
lived with not being able to fill the tank completely for quite a while, but
when the gas guage doesn't work too, every phone call to the girlfriend saying
"Can you get the red gas cannister from the storage room and..." makes you
lose points...

As a result, I have a working gas guage for the first time in 12 years :-)

Anyone else have one of those things they just live with and haven't ever
bothered to fix?

What happened?
I Hope you're ok!

My wife went through IV antibiotics at home just a few weeks ago. It's NOT
fun.

Happy ThanksGiving! Hope you feel much better real soon.

Lance.

To make a long story short, I have an abcess on my spinal column. How I got
it is a bit of a mystery; but thankfully there's no impending operations or
anything more serious than IV antibiotics. Knock on wood.

I can't say it ranks up there as fun, but it's about as painless as you can
get, relatively speaking. Compared with the back pain it's just delightful.

2 weeks down, 4 weeks to go. at 4,000mg of antibiotics a day, I should invite
people with sick children over so I can breathe on them and cure them. :-)

I think I missed part of this conversation. You got a new gas tank
because you needed a new sender? You couldn't fill the tank completely?

I'm asking because my repro tank is also not able to be filled
completely and I need a new sender too. I'll probably just replace the
sender and try to figure out what's wrong with the tank.

Best regards,
Keven Coates

K--

A word of advice, remember that on a 65/66, you can get the late 60's
tanks (69?) that hold 22 gallons. Get the appropriate sender and
you are off and running. I didn't do this, and wish I did.

YMMV.

Yes, but it's an inch taller so that must be considered with our very
low trunk height.

Good idea though.

My tank was 34 years old, and lots of salt goes on the road in the winters
here. :-)

The sending unit hadn't worked in over 12 years.

I looked at having the tank fixed when it started leaking, but a steam
cleaning and stuff would have been almost as much as a new tank - and if
you're gonna fix it, fix it right.
