I highly suggest that this car has (what they call) provenance (SP) -
Don't change a thing on it. It could, at some time, have as much value
as your (thought of changes to become a) GT.
It may (or may not) be a highly unique car, however, with the special
ordered handling package (and anything else special there might be),
then add the fact that it came from a first owner and purchased at/from
the first for franchise...
...There just might be someone out there wanting that special type of
car, one that nobody else has. Or, Not! I could be very wrong.

In his remarks at the National Automobile Dealers Association
convention, Bill Ford noted that a San Francisco businessman, William
Hughson, was the first Ford dealer. He obtained the franchise for the
entire West Coast (and Hawaii) even before the company was incorporated.
He bought $5,000 worth of Henry Ford's cars and sold them on the West
Coast. Then, after the 1906 earthquake, he lent cars to the Red Cross to
help with disaster relief.

Yeah, I tend to agree, I really don't want to change a thing on it. The
original owner had the original paint gone over last September, they did a really
bad job, and did not even match the original Springtime Yellow. The original
interior is almost perfect, but there are 2 spots in the original carpet that
have worn though. No speaker holes anywhere, AM radio still in the dash.

I can't remember anymore, did San Jose cars have build sheets under the
carpet, stuffed in the seat bottoms, or was that just Metuchen cars?

TIA,

Kraig Griffiths
