The current mufflers are Dynomax turbo style.
And, I added a pair of collector inserts, too. This dropped the overwhelming loudness down to a tolerable level, but I did loose a little power.

The rest of the exhaust is...
Headers are Hooker, 1.75" primary, long style (but they are the shortest length primary tube hooker makes for the long style, in this size, for this application), with a 3" collector.
...2.5" pipe from there back with a "H" balance tube.

***Size*** limitation - I have a convertible.
To have a system that is tucked up under the car the muffler cannot have an overall length greater than (I believe) 19". I would love to use a longer, quieter muffler.

Tried another brand turbo style, X-cellorater (?), they were worse.
Not only did they drone but the RPM range of the drone started earlier and lasted longer, it was over 3000 RPM wider than the Dynomax.

That sounds very similar to my setup. I'm surprised the turbos drone.
They normally don't from what I hear. I really like my Ultra flos.
They don't drone at all, and are pretty quiet relatively (relative to
flowmasters).
