sorry! lost dave's address to send him this message directly...

finally got that 8" rear end i got from you ( '69 car, wasn't it ? ), installed
in my '66... perches, drive shaft length, u-joints, all lined up perfectly!! (
c4 trans. )
i wonder if a 6 cyl. manual trans. would not have matched as well??

the only mod was to widen the u-bolt plate holes, for the '69 doesn't
taper down on the axle housing like the '66 7 1/4" & 8" does...so wider
u-bolts were required - no problem.

the extra 1/2" width on each side doesn't bother me in the slightest & i think
would clear the wheel wells even without my air shock aid.

what a difference in ride & feel from the 7 1/4"

this week - all new steering & suspension components, followed directly by
a fresh 289 / 4v rebuild install (waiting on the stand) !!

it's gonna be a great summer!

will keep all updated,

aj
66 coupe
95 gt

Glad to here it all worked out well and that someone could use it. It was
just in the way around here and an 8" is a good rear, but not for my car at
it's curent hp level.
