Chuck,

There is a Mustang Club in France that is based in Paris. They are an
MCA region. I met them in 1994 at the 30th Anniversary in Charlotte, NC
and they had some awfully nice cars. I don't know how to get in touch
with them, but I'll be a letter to Mustang Monthly or the Mustang Times
could resolve that. I do however have some friends in the Mustang Club
of Stockholm (Sweden) that I could hook you up with.

One of the things that you might consider is the lack of available parts
in Europe for American cars. People tend to use after market parts
available locally due to that fact, so cars tend to be less correct from
a concours point of view. I'm not sure if that's a concern to you. Also,
things that are manufactured in the US that you can buy are subject
to a tarriff. Just be aware that your Mustang hobby will get more
expensive.

post on the fordnatics list with france and 'christophe schwartz' in the
subject. chris lives in downtown paris if my maps are correct and drives
a quick '66. he should be able to tell you anything you want to know
about the french mustang scene. a while back I sent him a copy of super
ford and he sent me a 'nitro' which seems to be france's hot rod mag. you
might ask if he wants to do another swap.

I figure if you've considered retiring there you know how freakin'
expensive some stuff can be, depending on where you live. gas, though, is
expensive everywhere. a few years back I had it planned out to
ask for a transfer to paris but after *really* thinking about it I
realized I was far more comfortable with my standard of living here. I
would've been paid more there, but I'd have spent more of it too, no
small amount of that on the stuff I take for granted now. but if you can
afford to retire there, money for discretionary stuff probably isn't a
concern.
