Kevin (and others)

On most of these tags, the lower left corner will have a date code. It will be
in either the format of a year (9 for 69) and month (A= January) or month (B=
February) and day (1 to 31). The lower right hand corner will have an engine
code. For the perfectionists, this number-letter combination will tell whether
it is a 1,2, or 4 barrel motor, auto or standard transmission, oil cooler
(e.g. 70 Boss 302), or has air conditioning on certain years (70-up). The
upper right corner has a change level code, but this pretty much will fall in
line with the date code so for your particular assistance to others, if the
date code is OK, the change level probably will be. If the format on any of
the tags doesn't quite match these descriptions, it was probably an engine
built at the Ensite, Canada assembly plant. The lower right hand corner will
be where the change level is found in these cases. If you want, I could help
decode these further if anyone is interested.
