pardon ne for asking a basic question, but did you buy all new clips? old
ones could be out of shape.
also, some holes that the clips fit into could be worn and overly large.,
prevcentign clips from grabbing securely.
I recently redid my '65's pony interior and found that with new clips the
door panels fit fine.

Yup, new clips. I'm thinking that the holes are worn out as the new clips
will grab, but not hold.
