Hi everybody
I have a '65 FB, and in a few weeks it should be ready for the paint shop.
Currently it's painted white, but i'm thinking of restoring it's original color (code C) Honey gold.
Problem is i'we never seen this color, exept some parts still left inside the car.
Anybody have a picture or know one on the web?
Thanks

I, m having the same problem with my 70 coupe. The car was code 2 light ivy
yellow. The car has been in my wife's family sense new, I showed up in the
early 80's. When we got the car, it was painted dark green [its had a hard
life, painted a few times]. Her aunt, who punched the car new, lived out of
state, so my wife doesn't remember seeing it it's first color. The problem
is, we have never seen a car that color.
Well, I think we will paint it that color any way. If we don't like it, maybe
we will get some rock chips and have to repaint it.lol!

Unfortunately, the somewhat-unusual Honey Gold doesn't translate well
onto photographs. My '65 coupe is this color, and every time I've
photographed it (or any other Honey Gold '65 for that matter) the color
in the picture is just a shade off the true color.
Honey Gold has a slight tinge of green to it. For some reason the human
eye picks the green up, but color film (haven't tried digital yet)
leaves it out. The result is that the car just looks "gold" in
photographs. You really have to se it in person to make a judgement.

my '66 coupe is currently this color( i think). it does have a green-ish
look to it. the best i can tell , it is the original color , as the car is
completely stripped down right now. however , the paint code on my door tag
is E7..... i have never been able to find this code in any "decoder" books.
anyone have a book with this paint code in it? if so what does it actually
translate to???

It's true that colors get distorted in pictures, especially "metallic" colors. However i managed to find some more
of the original color so now i aprox. what it looks like.
I also found a few pictures on the web so i can image how a "golden" FB would be.
For now i'm 95% sure i'll paint it with Honey gold, but i like that Prairie Bronze also hm....
Safe cruising every body.

Hi Christian,
Here is what I found about this color:
At least there are two list-members who should have more information
about this:
David J. Hammar for information on '64.5 Pace Car White and '65 Honey
Gold.
and Edward A Slosky for information on '65 Honey Gold.
Also you can look up this two links which should provide you more
information:
falconparts.com/falconparts/tech/colorchart.html
classicmustanginc.com/2more65.html
Also I will send you a small picture to your Private mail-adress
Hope this helps
