I am having trouble with my Hooly carb on my '66 Stang. I can not get it to
kick down off the fast idle cam? any suggestions?

You didn't say if you have a auto or manual choke.
I've run into this before. The new Holley carbs have a plastic fast idle cam
which I've seen break. Also, on the choke housing, make sure that the shaft
that goes through the center is very clean and lubricated.

On a Holley that I worked on on a '67, the plastic fast idle cam was broken by a
previous owner; I replaced it. The shaft that goes through the center of the
cam had burrs/rust/etc. I took emery cloth and lightly polished it, then put on
a slight bit of lithium grease. It solved the problem on that car. Note that
the shaft didn't look bad, but was catching the cam. The cam has to move freely
to drop off of fast idle, and if there is any burr/etc. it won't fall off fast
idle.
