This is old but still might work.
You can get what's called a 'History 999 report'
Give Ford a call at 800.392.3673, ask for the history 999
report and have your vin ready.
It's not that great but it's free and comes on Ford letterhead.
There is also Lois Eminiger, (sp?) she got a hold of
some build sheets from Ford. Only certain cars and certain
years. W/ proof that you're the current owner and some cash,
$35ish, she'll mail you what she has.
Someone else might know more,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Randy is correct, but only for cars '67 or newer (pretty sure it is '67).
You can also contact Kevin Marti as he has Ford's archived information and can give you a report as well (there is a fee). You can look in Mustang Monthly for the information, as they have included it in the last several issues under the FAQ column.
