Hello,

Can anybody verify if shorty headers listed for 289,302,5.0L "These fit the
5.0L engines from 1986-1993" will fit a 1969 302 in a 1970 shell?
If so anything special required to make them work?

Thanks,

Marc Cramer

I'd say it's unlikely that they would fit. The headers in these old
mustangs have to curve so sharp right from the cylinder head that even
the spark plugs sometimes have trouble clearing. A late model Mustang
has different requirements in terms of which cylinders are tight.

I've gone around the block with headers (figuratively of course) and I
doubt anything other than what's made for these cars would work unless
you take out the shock towers, which of course requires a whole
different suspension and makes a whole new set of problems.
