Hello list,
This isn't a rant, really. Well, maybe it is, but it's short. This morning, upon arriving at school, I found that the left front side of my Mustang had been egged. I
don't know exactly when, but the yolk was already dry. I was so pissed off I yelled at the sky. There are some who dislike me at the school where I go, but this is just
plain mean. To have so little respect for something so old, even if I am the owner... I can't understand it. I got it all off this afternoon and the paint was fine except
for the faint outlines where the egg had been. I winced when I saw that the paint had been chipped nicely in two places. I had just had the car repainted recently, too.
What a shame. Not for my car, but for those who vandalized it. I have strong respect for someone who comes right to me and tells me what they think of me, good or
bad. That takes guts, and I admire it even coming from those whom I would call enemies. Yet when someone basically does something hurtful or destructive behind my back,
then runs away and laughs with his friends about it, I have next to no respect at all. Cockroaches would make better enemies than people with so little spine... and so
little admiration for history.
End rant.

That is a shame. This was the first year for my wife and I in our house
at Halloween time, it's a good neighborhood but every once in a while we
get some crazy people vrooming down the quiet street (and just a block
away last week someone took a turn down a side street too fast and slid
into a parked car, then left. I didn't see it happen, but I did see the
skidmarks, damaged car, and no note in the middle of the night).
You never know what kind of nuts will come around on Halloween (or New
Years), so as the sun went down I put the car cover on for safety sake.
Thankfully it was a quiet year, but you just never know. Better safe then
sorry. Good to hear there was no major/permanant damage. :/

One Halloween night, I had my wife's Datsun 1600 rolled onto its side
in the UMass (aka ZooMass) parking lot.
Sorry to hear about it. I wouldn't take it personally though.
I had eggs thrown into my '69 TR6
inside the windshield, where they would drip down behind the dash.
Now THAT is mean. Probably the same kids that bashed all the mailboxes
on the street, knifed the neighbors cherished portrait, and then left
the bath water running while they were on vacation. These kids got busted.
I will admit to pranks when I was young, but this isn't funny.

You may be able to get out those edge marks by using Clay Magic on the area.
Actually, do the entire car. Then use Meguires paint cleaner, polish and
carnuba wax on it.
So Wash
clay
cleaner
polish
carnuba wax
Not only will it most likely remove the egg spot, but get rid of lots of tiny
scratches and make the car look AWESOME! It takes a few hours but well worth
the effort. Only needs to be done once a year and this is a great time. Hope
that helps
